COCA 24 hour painting marathon

Next week the 15th annual COCA 24 hour painting marathon happens. I agreed once again to participate. It is a blast to be around so much creative energy. Below are couple of the pieces I made last year. Here is a link to the event information. I plan on stepping out of my normal procedures to make something different this year. If you live in Seattle please stop by for the festivities.

Giant Crate

I built my first crate last weekend in which I could fit 9 paintings total. It was quite an endeavor and unfortunately threw my back out in the process. But I am pleased to have made this triumphant crate which ended up weighing 365#. It is traveling to BLK/MRKT Gallery for my solo show scheduled for the 24th of November. I am extremely excited!

Damon Soule

I had the distinct pleasure of spending some quality time with one of my favorite artists last weekend. Damon Soule was in town and we painted for a few hours on Sunday. It was a blast just talking and working. If you aren’t familiar with Damon here is a link to his site.

New Studio

I have a new studio as of the last 6 weeks. It isn’t huge, but it’s all mine. I can spread out and let it fly. I pieced together a small panoramic image, so by clicking on the image you will be able to see it.
